Weather Update:
- The CPA of major (cat 3) hurricane Humberto has now passed and as of 9pm it was around 70nm to the north of the Island
- Hurricane Humberto is now moving away NE at around 17knots
- Sustained hurricane force winds (64knots+) are now beginning to subside but hurricane force gusts continue
- Winds started SSW earlier today but are now tending to veer into the W, with further veering into the WNW later tonight
- Sustained storm force winds (50knots+) are expected to ease across the Island soon after midnight
- Sustained tropical storm force winds (34knots+) are expected to ease by around 4-5am (pre-dawn and first light)
- Further showers can be expected (n.b. weather radar is currently out of service, likely due to a communications outage)
- The forecast storm surge of 2-3 feet appears to have come to fruition as per data from NOAA’s Esso Pier tide gauge near the oil docks in St George’s (some of the rise in height could also be due to wind waves) – https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/stationhome.html?id=2695540

- At quarter past each hour, The Bermuda Weather Service will provide updates
- At quarter to each hour, BELCO will provide updates
- On the hour and every half hour, general updates will be provided
