The Hon Minister Zane DeSilva, JP MP, accompanied by the Director, Department of Marine and Ports Services, toured a shipyard in Massachusetts to gather information regarding new ferries and discuss the refit of exisiting ferries.
The Hon Minister Zane DeSilva, JP MP, accompanied by his Permanent Secretary, Aideen Ratteray Pryse and Technical Officer, Stacey Evans, met with executives of Bermuda's Cruise Line Partners in Miami, FL to discuss the upcoming cruise season in Bermuda.
The Hon. Minister Zane DeSilva, JP MP spoke on a panel during the Marine Money Finance Forum on 24 September 2019 in Monaco. The Minister, accompanied by Permanent Secretary Aideen Ratteray Pryse and representatives from the Bermuda Maritime and Shipping Authority and the Bermuda Business Development Agency (BDA), announced Bermuda’s new superyacht and shipping registry offerings to the promote Bermuda.
The Hon. Minister Zane DeSilva, JP MP travelled aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ship Anthem of the Seas from 24th through 29th August 2019.
The Hon. Minister Zane DeSilva recently spoke at the National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers's (NABHOOD) 23rd Annual International African American Hotel Ownership and Investment Summit and Trade Show as well as the International Multicultural and Heritage Tourism Network's 6th Annual International Multicultural and Heritage Tourism Summit and Trade Show in Miami Florida.
The Hon. Minister Zane DeSilva attended the Seatrade Cruuise Global Conference in Miami, FL, the largest gathering for the cruise ship industry. The Minister was accompanied by Transport Planning Team Section Head, Stacey Evans and members of the Bermuda Tourism Authoritiy. While attending the conference, the group also had met with senior executives from the major cruiselines.
The Hon. Minister Zane DeSilva participated in the Bermuda Tourism Authority's Marketing Blitz in New York City. More than 150 New York City-based meeting planners, travel agents, tastemakers, media types and influencers attended a Bermuda-inspired evening reception to encourage year-round travel to the island. The Minister was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Aideen Ratteray Pryse. The events were hosted by the BTA and attended by the GMs and or Marketing Directors of Hamilton Princess, Fairmont Southampton, Rosedon, Elbow Beach and The Loren.
The purpose of the trip was to support Bermuda’s participants who were performing in Carifesta XIII. Minister was there for the period Wednesday August 16th 2017 – Sunday August 20th 2017 (4 nights). Note that the duration for the entire Carifesta XIII was from August 17th – 27th 2017
