The Public Service Scholarship Award provides annual awards to Bermudians pursuing post-secondary academic qualifications in a discipline identified by Government Departments as meeting the future needs of the Department. This ensures a well-trained cadre of people to fill positions within the Public Service. The scholarships are valued at a maximum of $20,000 per annum.
Who Can Apply
To be eligible for a Public Service Scholarship Award, applicants must:

Possess Bermuda status

Have had no less than five (5) years of schooling in Bermuda

Complete the education programme and training before the age of 65

Be enrolled in an accredited programme and learning institution ranked "Competitive" (or equivalent) or higher

Have completed an undergraduate freshman year, or be pursuing a graduate degree having met the requirements prescribed for admissions

Have satisfactorily fulfilled any obligations arising from any other awards received

For Public Officers: A minimum of 3 years working as a Public Officer (full-time, in a substantive post)
Important Obligation
Successful applicants must undertake five (5) years of employment in the Public Service upon completion of their studies. Failure to meet contractual conditions may result in discontinuation of the award and repayment of funds received.
