Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Senator, the Hon. Owen K. Darrell was invited to attend the 51st CARIFTA Games which took place from Saturday, March 30th to Monday, April 1st. Minister Darrell joined other Sports Ministers in the Caribbean at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium in Queens Park, St. Georges, Grenada.
Minister Darrell expressed excitement about witnessing the junior athletes compete against their Caribbean counterparts as the CARIFTA Games provide an opportunity for Bermuda's athletes to achieve sporting excellence regionally and inspire future generations by exposing them to high-level competition.
Minister Darrell was accompanied by Marva-Jean O'Brien, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Culture and Sport.
