The Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP, Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs joined other Heads of Government from the United Kingdom Overseas Territories in the Caribbean to discuss issues of collective importance and to determine an action to address their challenges.
The Caribbean Overseas Territories Leader Meeting chaired by the Hon. Wayne Panton, Premier of the Cayman Islands was held in Miami, Florida on the 29 July 2023.
The matters of interest in the agenda included improved engagement and information sharing between Caribbean Overseas Territories, beneficial ownership, representation at international forums and the UK’s relationship with its Overseas Territories. In addition, the meeting was held in preparation to discuss the Overseas Territories participation in other forums and conferences such as The Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) and COP28.
Costs for the hotel accommodation for each Overseas Territories Leader was covered by the host.
