The Premier & Minister of Finance travelled to San Francisco, California for the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) annual conference ‘RISKWORLD’. RIMS is the largest community dedicated to advancing risk management, and RISKWORLD was the first in-person conference since 2019. Bermuda has sent a delegation to this important annual conference for over 35 years.
The Premier was joined by the Hon. Jason Hayward, JP, MP, Minister of Economy and Labour; Stephen Weinstein, Bermuda Business Development Agency (BDA) Chair; and John Huff, President & CEO of the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers [ABIR]
During RIMS RISKWORLD the Premier and the Bermuda delegation took the opportunity to continue to tell Bermuda’s story of leadership in [re]insurance and to share our advances in technology and climate resilience. The message throughout the conference was a reminder that Bermuda remains the world’s risk capital thanks to our well-respected regulatory regime and our ability to continually innovate and evolve.
Additionally, the Bermuda delegation took advantage of the conference location in Silicon Valley and met with city and business leaders in technology, climate finance, and venture capital, including the Bay Area Council and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.
