Breastfeeding

The National Breastfeeding Committee comprises representatives from the Department of Health, the hospital, private pediatricians and community members. We meet regularly and offer free public quarterly breastfeeding classes to align with our aim protect, promote, and support breastfeeding in Bermuda.

We recommend that parents with questions or concerns about their breastfeeding journey contact their Health Visitor directly or call the Child Health Clinic at 441-278-6461 to be connected with one. You can also email healthvisitor@gov.bm.

We interviewed several breastfeeding mothers to gain their thoughts and perceptions regarding the breastfeeding experience in Bermuda. Click here to read their insightful feedback

As part of our ongoing efforts to promote breastfeeding awareness and support within our community, the Bermuda National Breastfeeding Committee is excited to introduce a new initiative to recognize and celebrate businesses that demonstrate a commitment to being breastfeeding friendly. We believe that creating a welcoming environment for breastfeeding families not only supports the health and well-being of mothers and babies but also fosters a sense of inclusivity and community within our local establishments. To this end, we invite you to click here to participate in our breastfeeding-friendly designation program.
