Food Safety Conference 2023: Managers Edition
The Ministry of Health will hold a Food Safety Conference 2023: Managers Edition, hosted by Environmental Health, on Thursday, November 30, 2023. This conference aims to offer crucial support and guidance to owners, operators, and managers of St. George's and Hamilton Parish food establishments.
The conference is designed to cater to the needs of individuals overseeing food establishments. The primary objective is to provide invaluable insights and assistance to empower attendees to meet and exceed the public health requirements during annual licensing inspections between January and March.
"We understand the critical role that food establishment managers play in safeguarding public health," stated Natalie Blake, Environmental Health Officer. "This conference serves as a dedicated platform to equip them with the necessary knowledge and resources to maintain the highest standards of food safety. We are pleased with the number of registrations we have received so far from our invitations - over 40 people. However, we urge those who have not yet responded and want to attend, please register today.”
Sessions at the conference will cover essential topics spanning critical and non-critical areas assessed during licensing inspections. By addressing these areas comprehensively, the conference aims to enhance participants' understanding and implementation of best practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement in food safety measures.
Minister of Health Kim Wilson, JP, MP, said: “Food safety is critical in restaurants to prevent the spread of foodborne illnesses, safeguard public health, and maintain the trust and reputation of the establishment. I strongly urge owners, operators, and managers in St. George's and Hamilton Parish to participate in this vital conference; the experience will undoubtedly be beneficial for you, your business, and your patrons.”
