Bermudian Author’s Memoir Added to the Bermuda National Library Collection

Recently, the Minister for the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation, the Hon. Diallo Rabain, JP, MP, officially received a copy of On the Brink of Insanity, a memoir by Bermudian author Cheyra Bell, which has been added to the Bermuda National Library’s collection.
On the Brink of Insanity is a powerful account of Ms. Bell’s descent into grief following the death of her father and her journey toward healing. She chronicles how loss shattered her sense of self and led her through struggles with mental health and addiction. Yet amid the darkness, she discovers resilience, grace, and the strength to rebuild. Her story is a testament to the human spirit’s ability to transform pain into purpose and find light in the shadows.
Minister Rabain explained, “The Bermuda National Library plays a vital role in preserving the creative and intellectual legacy of our people. Works like Ms. Bell’s memoir not only enrich our national collection but also remind us of the courage it takes to share one’s experience. I commend Ms. Bell for using her voice to inspire healing and resilience within our community."
The Bermuda National Library continues to serve as a repository for Bermuda’s published heritage, safeguarding the stories, research, and creative works that reflect the island’s culture, history, and people.
