Reminder: Virtual Forum on Draft Landlord and Tenant Bill

The Ministry of Home Affairs is reminding residents, landlords, tenants, and industry professionals to join the link Virtual Draft Landlord Tenant Bill Consultative Meeting this evening, Wednesday, October 29, at 6.30 PM.

This public forum is part of the Ministry’s Affordable Bermuda Agenda, aimed at making Bermuda more equitable and sustainable for all. 

The Draft Bill proposes to repeal and replace outdated landlord and tenant laws with a singular modern framework that introduces:

  • Standardized leases  
  • Security deposit reform  
  • Clearer rights for both landlords and tenants  
  • Faster dispute resolution  

 

This evening’s forum will feature an overview presentation, followed by a question and answer period.

This is an opportunity for residents to have their say on legislation that directly impacts Bermuda’s housing landscape and quality of life. 

The consultation period closes on Friday, October 31, 2025.
