Department of Planning to Host Information Session for St. George Area Residents

St. Georges Info

In recognition of World Town Planning Day, the Department of Planning will host an information session on undertaking development within the Town of St. George.

The Town of St. George is cherished for its historic and cultural significance, and careful planning is essential to preserve its unique character. This session offers the public an opportunity to learn more about the planning process and how development proposals within the Town are reviewed and managed.

During the session, the Department will offer guidance on:

  • When planning permission is required
  • What information must be submitted
  • Who is consulted and why
  • How heritage applications are assessed
  • And other key planning considerations

The event will include a presentation followed by a question-and-answer session, allowing attendees to engage directly with planning professionals.

The Department encourages the public, particularly residents, property owners, and businesses in the St. George's area, to take advantage of this opportunity to gain a better understanding of the planning process and how planning decisions help protect and enhance the Town's historic environment.

The information session will take place on Wednesday, 12 November, from 6:00 p.m. at Penno's Wharf, St. George.
