Bermuda Public School system
Compulsory education is for children between the ages of 5 and 16. Education is provided free of charge for students up to 19 years.
Students can enroll in Bermuda College upon graduating from high school.
The academic year runs between September and June (inclusive).
School Levels
Pre Primary
This is an optional stage of education for children aged 4 years old
Primary
This is a compulsory stage of education lasting for 6 years. (P1 – P6) Children enter primary education at age 5.
Middle School
Middle School lasts for three years (M1 – M3) after completion of primary education. Middle School Curriculum includes the following (11yrs – 14yrs):

- Social Studies
- Science
- Physical Education
- The Arts
- Business Studies
- Design and Technology
- Foreign Language
Senior School
There are two Senior High schools: The Berkeley Institute and CedarBridge Academy. Senior school curriculum includes the following (14yrs – 18yrs):

- Family Studies
- Business Studies
- Theatre
- Dance
- Design and Technology
- Music
- Physical Education
- Social Studies

Currently, the senior cycle lasts for 4 years (S1 – S4) and leads to the Bermuda School Certificate.
