European Union Engagements
The Premier travelled to Europe for a series of European Union Engagements. The Premier, alongside the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, the State Secretary of Slovenia, and the OECD Secretary-General, attended and participated in the OECD Blockchain Policy Forum, which focused on improving blockchain policies and digital financing.
The Premier also participated in a 2-day EUROFI Conference on macro-economic and regulatory developments impacting the global financial sector; post Brexit for a future EU; Crypto currencies; and EU economic substance matters (i.e. sustainable investment, challenges and prospects for the EU asset management sector, Fintech and digitalization, enhancing supervision and resolution in banking, developing EU securities markets, Solvency II, etc). In addition, the Premier delivered remarks at the 2018 ABIR Conference in Brussels.
During the course of this business travel, the Premier also met with a number of high-level officials, including the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, the OECD Secretary General, the State Secretary of the German Federation and the Director of Tax Legislation to dicuss EU Blacklist matters.
