What do they do?
The Department of National Drug Control:
- runs the women’s and men’s drug treatment centres in Bermuda, including counselling, skill building, and therapy programmes;
- advocates and educates on prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and harm reduction which concerns alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs;
- provides technical advice, educational resources, and financial support to drug prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services; and
- performs research and develops legislation to strengthen drug policy in Bermuda.
The Bermuda Drug Information Network
The Bermuda Drug Information Network (BerDIN) is committed to providing the evidence that allows for discussions and decisions to be informed by sound, centrally available, local data, on a wide range of issues that increase understanding of the complex, dynamic, and evolving nature of the Island’s drug problem.
