What do they do?
The Accountant General manages the working capital—money—for the Government of Bermuda. Managing the budget involves:
- Managing the Government of Bermuda’s investments and cash holdings.
- Improved efficiency of financial statement process enabling publication of Consolidated Fund financial statements within six months of the Government financial year end.
- To provide quality service to our stakeholders.
- To safeguard the assets of Government by ensuring that adequate internal controls are established and are being followed by all sectors of the Government.
- collecting payments from residents and tourists for taxes and fees;
- To provide financial management oversight, guidance and support to Government Ministries and departments
- Managing the Government of Bermuda's pension funds; and
- Providing all government employees, pensioners, and their dependents with Government Employee Health Insurance (GEHI).
